Covid-19

A thuismitheoirí/caomhnóirí,

Mar is eol do chách, tá an víreas Covid-19 sa nuacht le déanaí. Ba mhaith linn a chur in iúl daoibh go bhfuil muid ag leanúint treoracha na Roinne Sláinte go docht.

Tá ár bPátrún Foras Pátrúnachta na Scoileanna lán-Ghaeilge ag bualadh go seachtainiúil leis an Taoiseach, P.O.S Tony Holohan agus an t-Aire Sláinte. Féach thíos ar na pointí gur mhaith leo go roinnfeadh muid libh.

  • Níl aon treoir tugtha d’ócáidí ar leith go fóill. Mar sin, is rogha do gach scoil freastal ar imeachtaí agus araile. Tá eolas breise sa cheangaltán.
  • Is seandaoine agus daoine tinn an dá ghrúpa riosca is mó, ní grúpa riosca ar leith iad páistí. Nuair a fhaigheann páistí an víreas is tinneas éadrom a bhíonn i gceist.
  • Ní athraíonn aon rud go dtí go bhfuil cás deimhnithe. Má tharlaíonn sé seo i do scoil, tabharfaidh an FSS treoir don scoil dúnadh agus comhairle leis.
  • Tá RTÉ Junior ag dul físeán a fhoilsiú ar ball atá cruthaithe mar áis do pháistí.
  • Tá comhairle maidir leis an scoil a ghlanadh ar fáil ó https://www.hpsc.ie/Ní mhaireann an víreas ach 2-3 lá ar dhromchla agus is leor gnáthchleachtas an áit a choinneáil slán.
  • Tá sobal agus uisce te chomh héifeachtach le díghalrán (sanitiser) lámh. Níl aon mhaitheas i masc a chaitheamh nó mar sin.
  • Tá an FSS ag breathnú isteach ar thacaíochtaí maidir le himní ar páistí a bhainistiú, ar iarratas uainn.
  • Tá HSElive ar fáil bhur gceisteanna a fhreagairt ar 041-6850300 nó hselive@hse.ie

Táimidne sa scoil taréis tionóil a bheith againn leis na daltaí chun na rudaí seo a leanas a mheabhrú dóibh.

  • Casacht a chlúdach isteach i gciarsúr nó i do d’uilleann
  • Do lámha a nigh go minic le sobal agus uisce (Can amhrán Lá Breithe Shona Dhuit/Beidh Aonach Amárach)
  • Do lámha a choimead glan amach ó d’aghaidh
  • Glantar dromchlaí/boird/cluas doirse go laethúil
  • Molaimid do na páistí lámha a nigh cúpla uair in aghaidh an lae

Dáileadh eolas Covid-19 ar thuismitheoirí mar a iarradh orainn.

Tá postaerí an FSS croctha ar fud na scoile.

Más gá dúinn sonraí a roinnt leis an FSS déanfaimid amhlaidh (GDPR).

As the Covid-19 virus continues to dominate the news on a daily basis, we would like to reassure you and your children that we are following Department of Health guidelines as we receive them.

Our Patron, An Foras Pátrúnachta attends meetings with the Taoiseach, CMO, Dr. Tony Holohan and also with the Minister for Health to seek guidance as this virus continues. The points that we received from the latest meeting are as follows:

  • There are, at present, no guidelines for specific events. Therefore, all planned events will go ahead as per recommendations.
  • It is the elderly and more vulnerable who are most susceptible to this virus and it has been reported that 80% of cases are mild.
  • Nothing will change unless a case has been confirmed in the school and if that is to happen, we will be instructed to close by the HSE.
  • RTE Junior are in the middle of creating a video for children regarding this virus and when it is available, we will circulate it on Facebook and our website, as well as showing it to the children in the classrooms. An Foras has asked for the HSE to look into support for children who may be worried by this virus and hopefully they will help in allaying fears.
  • An Foras will continue meeting on a weekly basis with the Minister for Health and/or the CMO.
  • HSE Live is available for any questions you may have on 041-685 0300 or at hselive@hse.ie

We ourselves, are taking this news very seriously. Numerous assemblies have been held with the whole school, where advice has been given to the children, like:

  • Cough into arms
  • Dispose of tissues after use
  • Wash hands regularly while singing “Lá Breithe Shona Dhuit” (on arrival to school, after use of toilet, after coming in from yard etc.)
  • Keep hands away from face (eyes, nose, mouth, ears)
  • All school tables/surfaces/door handles etc are washed down on a daily basis with recommended cleaning agents.

As per Department guidelines, we circulated information relating to Covid-19 to all parents in the school. All posters from the HSE and other bodies are in classrooms and around the school.

Following our GDPR Policy, we have permission to relay relevant information to the HSE should the need arise (Under Section 28 of the Education (Welfare) Act, 2000, the School may supply Personal Data kept by it to certain prescribed bodies. The BoM must be satisfied that it will be used for a “relevant purpose”)

Please see the most recent letter we received from the CMO, Dr.Tony Holohan.
